Picea pungens
Colorado spruce

Green to light blue-green, the sharp pointed foliage is 3/4 - 1 1/4" long, stout, 4-sided and radially arranged around the stem but crowded on the upper surface. The sharp-pointed incurved evergreen needles have stomatal bands on all surfaces that are covered with a bloom, thus producing a bluish color that varies in intensity from plant to plant.
