Pinus aristata
Bristlecone pine

This dwarf and slow-growing pine is the longest lived woody plant known in the world, with some specimens attaining 4,600 years of age.

Habit:Pyramidal in youth, becoming picturesque or irregular in old age, native specimens on exposed sites are often gnarled and twisted
Size:10-20' high, often shorter in cultivation
Color:Dark green to dark bluish green
Texture:Medium with much character
Hardiness:Zone 4a USDA
Habitat:High elevations of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado - New Mexico - Arizona
Family:Pinaceae
