Pinus heldreichii
Bosnian pine

Culture: Like other pines, this species performs best in moist acidic soils with good drainage; however this species is also known for its tolerance of dry and alkaline soils. It is also salt resistant and slow growing.

This species is resistant to Diplodia tip blight that so seriously affects Pinus nigra.

Usage: Because of its uniform habit, dark green neatly arranged foliage and disease resistance, this species has the potential to become an important species in the landscape trade. It can be used as a specimen, screen or in masses.
