Pinus parviflora 'Glauca'
Glaucous Japanese white pine

Light bluish green, fairly short and tufted at the branch ends, the 1 1/2 - 2 1/2" evergreen needles are borne five per fascicle, and are usually curved and twisted. The soft needles have blunt apices, while the margins are serrulate and silvery-blue on the inner surfaces, becoming blue-green in the spring. Needle sheaths abscise when young. The foliage occurs in fairly tight bunches rather than being evenly distributed along the branches.
