Pinus virginiana
Scrub pine,Virgina pine

Short and borne in fascicles of two, the 1 1/2 - 3" evergreen needles are stout but somewhat soft, twisted and have sharp apices. They range from dark green to gray-green in summer, often becoming yellow green in winter and have stomatal bands on both surfaces of the irregularly serrate needles.
