Platanus x hispanica
London planetree

A hybrid between our native sycamore and the oriental planetree, this species has the best characteristics of both: greenish-white bark, moderate cold tolerance, and disease resistance. It can be identified in Northern regions by its greenish bark and multiple fruit, setting it apart from the white-barked single fruiting sycamore. It was also recognized as Platanus x acerifolia or Platanus x hybrida previously.

Habit:Pyramidal and spreading
Size:70-100' high
Color:Medium to dark green, becoming tan to brown in autumn
Texture:Coarse
Hardiness:Zone 6a USDA
Family:Platanaceae
