Potentilla fruticosa
Bush cinquefoil,Potentilla

These wispy, shiny brown stems have a fine silky pubescence on young growth, becoming glabrous and exfoliating with age. Cup-shaped, 1/4" wide remnants of the fruit display are often present on stem ends through the winter.
