Pyracantha coccinea
Scarlet firethorn

A nice feature on this species, the perfect flowers are bright white in color, 1/3 - 1/2" in diameter and formed into 1-2" diameter corymbs. The showy display is bright white in color. The flowers are composed of 5 orbicular petals with reddish anthers. The display begins in late May to early June and lasts for about two weeks. They are slightly malodorous.
