Rhus copallina
Flame sumac

Moderately stout, tannish brown and covered with fine brown hairs, the stems are dotted with small reddish brown lenticels and produce a sticky milky sap. Older stems become glabrous and gray. The stem pubescence is considerably shorter than that of Rhus typhina.
