| Rosa rugosa Rugosa roseAlternate and odd pinnately compound, the 3-7" leaves are comprised of 5-9 leaflets borne on a prickly petiole, with each leaflet being 1-2" long, dark glossy green and rugose due to impressed venation. The serrate leaflets are glabrous above and slightly pubescent below, elliptic to elliptic-obovate, and have obtuse apices with a bit of a point and nearly rounded bases. The leathery rugose appearance of the thick leaves distinguishes this species from many others. |
