Spiraea japonica
Japanese spirea

This species comprises a large group of common small broad-rounded shrub cultivars with small pink, or sometimes white, flowers borne in flat-topped clusters in the summer. Cultivars listed as belonging to S. x bumalda and S. albiflora are appropriately classified as S. japonica, although most U.S. nurseries list cultivars under these other species names.

Size:2-4' high, depending upon cultivar
Color:Dark green on the species type, cultivars vary
Texture:Medium-fine to fine
