Spiraea nipponica 'Snowmound'
Snowmound Nippon spirea

Borne in late May to early June on previous season's growth, the bright white 1/3" diameter flowers are borne in rounded and dense 1 – 1 ½" clusters at the branch ends. The flowers bear 5 rounded petals and have small green leafy bracts below the petals. While the effect is somewhat less spectacular than that of the Vanhoutte spirea, the bright white flowers contrast very nicely against the very dark green foliage, providing a stiffly arching nice display.
