Spiraea thunbergii
Thunberg spirea

Among the narrowest of the spireas, the alternate and simple leaves of this species are linear-lanceolate, 1 – 1 ¾" long, and sharply serrate on the terminal ½ to ¾ of the blade. The narrow blades are only 1/8 – ¼" wide and are medium green in color with yellow-green venation. They are glabrous on both surfaces. The older and more mature leaves are frequently accompanied by several small 1/8 – ¼" leaves at the same point of attachment.
