Viburnum x burkwoodii
Burkwood viburnum

Separate vegetative and flower buds occur on this species. The ¼ - ½" slender vegetative buds are naked, foliose and tomentose. The long slender vegetative buds often project beyond the more clustered flower buds, presenting a "Viking helmet-like" appearance. The 1/3 – ½" diameter clustered flower buds are covered in a gray-brown pubescence and usually occur terminally on the stems.
