Oppositely arranged on the stem, the deciduous leaves are broad ovate to elliptic in shape and 1 ½ - 4" long. The leaf surface is dull due to pubescence but it still has a slight sheen. The dark green leaves are irregularly toothed with an acute apex and round to cordate base and slightly impressed venation. The leaves of this species are more dull and more serrate than the highly glossy and barely-toothed leaves of Viburnum x burkwoodii. The leaves of Viburnum x juddii are more irregularly serrate and have larger serrations than those of this species.
