Aronia arbutifolia
Red chokeberry

Showy bright red 1/4" pomes are borne in fall and persist on the plants until spring. The fruits remain bright red, firm and attractive through January, but begin to shrivel and darken after the coldest weather. Most wildlife avoid eating the fruits.
