Berberis thunbergii
Japanese barberry

The Japanese Barberry is grown for its fine texture, ease of cultivation and persistent red berries. This species is also represented in the trade by a host of cultivars that differ in foliage colors and size.

Habit:Broad rounded and slightly cascading to mounded
Size:3-6' high
Color:Bright to medium green for the species, purple and yellow forms commonly available
Texture:Fine
