Chaenomeles japonica

Chaenomeles japonica
Japanese flowering quince

The leaves are alternate, simple, broad-ovate to obovate, 1 to 2" long, serrate and obtuse to rounded at the apex. At the base of each leaf petiole is a pair of rounded crenate-serrate stipules. The leaves of this species are shorter and have a more rounded apex than those of Chaenomeles speciosa.
