Japanese flowering quince

Five-petaled flowers are the main attraction of this plant. They can be orange, red, scarlet or blood red, on 1-year-old wood, borne in early April, blooming before Common Quince. They can be quite showy in flower. The flowers are susceptible to spring frosts.
