| Cotoneaster horizontalis Rock cotoneasterCulture: Like most cotoneasters, the rock cotoneaster is adaptable to most landscape conditions. It does require good drainage and prefers moist sites, however. Mites, aphids, canker, and fireblight can be a problem. Usage: This species is a good selection next to walls, as a groundcover, or along steps -- anywhere that its arching branches can soften harsh architectural lines. Unfortunately, it has not proven to be as resistant as Cotoneaster dammeri in terms of insects and diseases. |
