Cotoneaster lucidus
Hedge cotoneaster

Culture: Cotoneaster lucidus is another cotoneaster that seems to take just about anything except for consistently wet roots. It prefers moist, well-drained soil, but will thrive in dry, sandy soils or clay soils. It can be pruned regularly, and prefers light shade to full sun.

Mites, aphids, canker, and fireblight can be a problem.

Usage: Best used as a hedge or screening plant, this upright species provides glossy dark green foliage and relatively decent fall color.
