Ilex cornuta
Chinese holly

Culture: This species prefers slightly acidic soil in full sun to light shade, and is drought and heat tolerant. Its lack of cold hardiness limits its usefulness to areas warmer than the Midwest. Occasionally sold in the Midwest as a potted plant decorated for the Christmas holiday. Plants subsequently put outside suffer a common fate.
