Leucothoe fontanisiana
Drooping leucothoe

Alternate, simple and lanceolate-ovate, the highly glossy evergreen leaves dark green have an acuminate apex, rounded to acute base and finely serrulate and ciliate margins. Early in the season the new leaves are bronzy purple changing to dark green for the summer and fall. In winter they turn to bronzy purple or reddish-purple.
