Ligustrum vulgare
Common privet

A large rounded-pyramidal and tough deciduous shrub, previously much grown in the US as a hedge plant. However, its susceptibility to anthracnose twig blight should greatly restrict its usage.

Habit:Rounded-pyramidal, somewhat irregular
Size:12-15' high
Color:Dark green
Texture:Medium to medium-fine but slightly more coarse than other species used in the Midwest
Hardiness:Zone 4b USDA
Habitat:Europe and North Africa
