Lonicera fragrantissima
Winter honeysuckle

The young stems are a glabrous, shiny and slender yellow-brown or straw-brown color at the end of their first season, becoming fissured with a stringy grayish underbark as they age. The stems first crack open at the nodes between the two buds. The stem pith is white in color, unlike most honeysuckle shrubs.
