Lonicera japonica
Japanese honeysuckle

Culture: This is an extremely adaptable species, growing in full sun to heavy shade. It is a vigorous competitor, starting growth early in spring and continuing late into fall, resulting in its overtaking all in its path.

Essentially this is a problem-free species.

Usage: Because of the ready spread of this species into fencerows and native woodlands, this species has been declared a noxious weed in many states and is illegal to sell. It should not be planted! It was formerly commonly sold as a ground cover and bank cover. The selection 'Halliana' with its even more fragrant flowers and vigorous growth was the most common form in the trade.
