Star magnolia

Alternate, simple and narrow elliptic to oblong-obovate, the relatively small 2 to 4" leaves are entire with an obtuse apex and a cuneate to acute base. This species has the smallest leaves of the magnolias. The leaves have netted venation and are glabrous above with only the veins being pubescent below.
