Pieris floribunda

Pieris floribunda
Mountain pieris

Alternate, simple and elliptic to oblong-lanceolate, the 1 1/4 - 3" evergreen leaves are crenate serrate, glossy on the upper surface and glabrous except for ciliate hairs on the margins. The handsome new foliage in spring is glossy and reddish purple turning to bronze then glossy green. The reddish new leaves contrast nicely with the older green foliage.
