| Pinus flexilis Limber pine2 1/2 - 3 1/2" evergreen needles are borne 5 to a fascicle, closely clustered together. The leaves in each fascicle tend to stay distinctly separated from those of other fascicles. They are stout with entire margins and curve slightly inward, densely crowding the branch tips. Stomatal lines are visible on the inner surfaces of the twisted, glaucous, dark green needles. The leaf sheaths are deciduous in the first year but needles persist for 5-6 years. |
