Prunus padus
European bird cherry

Borne in 3-6" slightly drooping racemes, the fragrant, 5-petaled, white, 1/2" diameter flowers are borne in mid April - early May. Although quite attractive, the overall effect is somewhat masked by their being produced after the leaves have emerged, resulting in a moderately showy display.
