Acer negundo
Boxelder

Dioecious and unnoticeable, the small yellow-green flowers are borne in March or April. The male flowers are a combination of yellow filaments with red and green anthers, while the female flowers are red with a bit of green and protruding yellow stigmas. Female trees should be avoided in the landscape, as their flowers attract boxelder bugs and produce heavy fruit loads.
