Acer negundo
Boxelder

The 1 to 1 1/2" green samaras appear only on female trees in great abundance, turning brown and persisting into winter. This heavy fruit production typically lends female plants an unattractive and weedy appearance. The samaras occur approximately 80 degrees apart.
