Amelanchier stolonifera

Amelanchier stolonifera
Running serviceberry

Appearing in July, the edible, purple-black pomes are around 1/4" in diameter, attracting squirrels, birds, and ground squirrels. I find them to be sweeter than A. humilis, as I often sampled them whenever I could while working at the Morton Arboretum.
