Chionanthus virginicus
White fringetree

Arranged subopposite to opposite along the stem, the entire, simple, elliptic leaves are often very late to emerge. The leaves are folded along the midrib and have acute to acuminate apices and cuneate leaf bases. The leaves have a slightly rugose dark glossy green upper surface and the pale underside is glabrous to slightly pubescent.
