Opposite and elliptic-ovate, the 1 1/2 to 3"-long leaves are entire with an acuminate to acute apex. As with other dogwoods, the lateral veins do not terminate at the margin, but rather curve toward the apex. The leaf surface has a blistered appearance between veins (bullate) and the leaves are glaucous below.
