Cornus alba
Tatarian dogwood

Similar in appearance to a number of other shrubby dogwoods, the buds

are of two types. The valvate terminal buds are 3/16 - 1/4" long, slightly

bulbous and taper to a point, while laterals are valvate, appressed, and 1/8 to

3/16" long. Both types of buds are pubescent and brownish gray.
