Ilex x meserveae
Meserve holly

This hardy species represents a group of cultivars derived from crosses between Ilex aquifolium and Ilex rugosa, or Ilex cornuta and Ilex rugosa. They were bred by Mrs. F. Leighton Meserve to bring increased cold hardiness to evergreen hollies.

Habit:Broad-rounded to broad-pyramidal and shrubby
Size:10-15' high x 10' wide possible, but more likely to be 4-6' in height in the Midwestern climate
Color:Glossy dark green in all seasons
Texture:Medium-fine
Hardiness:Zone 5b to 6a USDA, depending on cultivar
