Lonicera fragrantissima
Winter honeysuckle

Borne very early in the season the fragrant creamy white flowers give off a very fragrant lemon scent. This species flowers in late March to early April lasting for 3-4 weeks, depending upon temperature. Because they are borne so early, they can be injured by spring frosts. The 1/2 - 3/4" flower petals are formed into a 4-lobed corolla facing opposite of a single lobe.
