Magnolia tripetala
Umbrella magnolia

Alternate, simple and oblong to obovate, the large 10 to 24"-long, leaves have entire margins with an acute to slightly acuminate apex and a cuneate base. Clustered together at the end of the stem, the leaves on each branch end present an umbrella-like appearance. The cuneate base readily distinguishes this species from Magnolia macrophylla.
