Prunus persica
Common peach

Deep red above where exposed to sunlight and green below, the glabrous young stems have a yellow grainy or dotted appearance. The buds often occur collaterally on raised leaf scars. As the stems age they turn grayish brown and have noticeable swellings at the end of each season's growth.
