Oriental cherry

Although potentially a large tree, this species is represented largely by small vase-shaped to rounded and grafted cultivars noted for their showy double pink to white flowers.

Habit:Vase shaped to rounded; most cultivars vase shaped, grafted and very stiff looking; most often grafted on P. avium
Size:Most cultivars 20-30' high, the species 50-75' high
Color:Medium green
Texture:Medium-fine
Hardiness:Zone 6a/6b USDA; not reliably hardy in central Illinois
Habitat:Japan, China, Korea
Family:Rosaceae
