Prunus virginiana
Chokecherry

Gray-brown becoming brown to reddish brown with slight onion skin effect, the stems have slightly raised gray-tan lenticels. When scratched, the stems of this species emit an unpleasant odor that is stronger than that of most other Prunus species.
