Salix alba
Weeping willow

Distinctively single-scaled and appressed to the stem, the 1/4" long narrow conical buds are glabrous and green turning yellow in late fall. The single-scaled bud has a rounded back on the side away from the stem while the side closest to the stem is flattened to it.
