Sweet mockorange

The 1 1/2 to 3" leaves are opposite, simple and ovate with a rounded base and acuminate apex. The margins have a few widely spaced very small serrations. The leaves are glabrous above and only have a slight amount pubescence in the axils of the veins below. Although similar in appearance to those of Kolkwitzia amabilis, the leaves of this species are typically wider and have a shorter apex.
