Philadelphus coronarius
Sweet mockorange

Orange-brown to red-brown, the older bark exfoliates in large single sheets at the base of the plant revealing a tan inner bark. The color of the bark is considerably darker than the tan colored exfoliating bark of Kolkwitzia amabilis. The bark on either species however, provides only the most minor of interest.
